To The Theatre!
For those of you who don’t know, I started this blog as a way to share my movie reviews. Of course, it has turned into something much more than just reviews, but movies are still one of my first passions. There is nothing quite like going to the theater, sitting in a giant dark room, looking at a screen that covers an entire wall, and hearing it blasted around in you beautifully crisp surround sound.
Unfortunately, though, as much as I love going to the movies, I haven’t seen very many in the last few months. Not because there hasn’t been anything decent, but because I just haven’t found the time. However, I plan to rectify this in the coming months.
And here are the top three movies I am planning on seeing:
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
I honestly don’t know much about this film – I didn’t even know it existed until a friend of mine told me to watch the trailer – but it looks fascinating, and it has a stellar cast!
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
A different take on a Swedish film that’s not even five years old based on a best selling novel, I vowed I would see it the instant I saw the trailer. Like the previous movie, it looks to be a tale of mystery, intrigue, and suspense, and (again) it has a star-studded cast (Daniel Craig and Christopher Plummer? Yes please!). Of course, it won’t be a movie for everyone, but I’m anxious to see how it plays out.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
The sequel to 2009′s huge Christmas hit, A Game of Shadows looks like it will outperform the first film in just about every way, which is always a great thing. I saw the first film on Christmas day with my family, and I intend to do the same this year.

So that’s that! Those are my top three movies that I want to see in theaters. Chances are I’ll see others too, but I’m most excited for these. :)

There’s just tons of good stuff about to come out!!

I have not heard of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Which surprises me becasue I am obsessed with movies and this looks like just my kind. Such a great cast.
I am quite interested to see the American version of Girl With a Dragon Tattoo. I love the book and the original movie.
Sherlock Holmes. Yes, please.
There are so many great movies coming out in the not so distant future.
*cough* Dark Knight Rises *cough* ;)
I have such a long list of movies I want to see.

I know! I was greatly disturbed that I hadn’t heard of it either. And it really, really is. :)
I haven’t read the book or seen the original movie. I kid you not, the only thing that got me interested in the movie was the trailer I posted here. I’ve since seen the theatrical trailer, so I’ve got the gist of the story, and it looks like it’s right up my alley. :P
Yes please indeed. ;)
*pauses* I’m… sorry. I think my heart just skipped a beat at the mention of that movie. That and The Avengers are my top two movies for the Summer of 2012, and then we get the Hobbit next holiday!!!
*coughs*
But this list was stricly for 2011. ;P
I love lists. :P
Oh! And did you get my email? I sent it to the address WordPress had…

So excited for The Dark Knight Rises. I freaked out when the trailer came on before the midnight showing of Deathly Hallows Part 2. I did not even know a trailer was being released.
I always have such a long list of books and movies. On the plus side, it is impossible to run out.
I agree with Avengers and The Hobbit! A few others on my list are The Rum Diary. The Muppets! (both 2011) and The Raven (2012)
And yes, I did.

Hahaha! You and me both! I seriously geeked out. xD
That is very true. ;P
And I know about both, but I’m not as excited for either of them as I am these three. I know very little about The Raven.
Okay. :)

Hadn’t heard of the Tinker, Tailor, Solier, Spy, but I love Oldmn. Thanks for the tip.
Loved the Girl Who trilogy and saw all three of the Swedish films. Can’t wait to see the big budget version.
Nothing’s going to keep me out of theater for the new Holmes movie. Even if I have to panhandle the price of admission.
Nice selection. do you plan to review them?

Good! I’m glad I’m giving it some exposure. :)
That’s what I keep hearing! I can’t wait. ^_^
Hahaha! Sherlock is just that good! ;)
Thank you! And I do plan on reviewing them. I haven’t reviewed anything in a while, and I’m starting to feel the itch to do so.
