Where ideas flow.

In the Stillness I Hear It…

In the stillness I hear it,

The breath of a whisper,

The faintest of cries,

The Voice of the One

Who is there.

In the chaos I feel it,

The touch of a finger,

The softest of strokes,

The Hand of the One

Who is there.

In the Darkness I see it,

The Light at the End,

The brightest of suns,

The Smile of the One

Who is there.

  1. Lovely whispering poem! With each verse I wanted to bring your description of the one who is ‘there’ to be the one who is ‘here’. This poem made me ‘reach’ – really, really nice!

    • Haha, thank you! And I know the feeling! But I couldn’t bring myself to say “here” because then it loses the “stretch,” as you put it.

I’m glad you liked it! ^_^

      • It was a poetic tease!! :-D

        • Ha! I hadn’t thought of it that way, but you’re absolutely right! xD

  3. I like the possiblities this poem provides. It could be about so many things. It leaves interpretation to the reader and fills their needs.

    Another wonderful poem.

    • Thank you, Miss D! And I agree with your assessment. I believe that open interpretation can be a powerful tool when writing poetry, because, like you said, it fills the needs of the diverse reader.

And sometimes I just like ambiguity. ;P

Love the middle stanza the best. It just brings such peace.

    • Glad to hear it “touched” you so.

      Sorry, I couldn’t resist. :P

Seriously, though, I’m glad you found it peaceful. :)

    • Thank you, Enreal! Your words touch me. :)

      December 8, 2011 at 12:54 pm

    • Though now I must ask:

Do you not know? I’m not meaning to pry, but I find myself saddened by your comment. It’s almost as if you wished you knew, but the knowledge alludes you.

If I’m totally off base of crossing a line, my apologies, but I can’t help but ask.

      • I knew once and that memory is still inside me… it is beautiful and it is cherished… I simply chose to walk off that path. One day I will find it again, for now simply cherish your knowledge, for not all possess it and it is the greatest gift, aside from Life itself

        December 8, 2011 at 1:06 pm

        • If I could, I would hug you, Enreal.

I hope that one day is soon. :)
