La Cenerentola

Hello again!

On this Musical Monday, we’re going to rock things old school.

Extremely old school.

That’s right.

I’m busting out the classical music.

But not just any music, and not just from any composer.

Today we’re going to listen to La Cenerentola, one of the most famous operas of Gioachino Rossini.

Don’t worry, though – there are no singing fat-ladies to be found. ;P

The "Italian Mozart"

As the caption implies, Rossinsi was incredibly talened, and very famous, writing 39 operas in his time (and at the time, he was the most popular opera composer in history).

To be honest, I wasn’t aware this man existed until today. I only fell in love with his music just last week as I was listening to the radio in the car, so please, put down your pitch-forks and torches in love and understanding. ;P

Haha! Seriously, though, I really enjoyed the piece. It’s considered one of his comedic pieces, which is very evident, for the music is alive and bouncy and it makes you smile (or at least it makes me). xP

With that said, I hope you enjoy the piece as much as I did, and that it enriches your musical palate.

Happy Monday, everyone! Have a great week! ^_^
