Change
As I look back
upon this old year,
I see a repeating
theme.
It wove itself
into my being,
fundamentally
altering
me.

Change.
~
Looking back, I gaze at the mem’ries,
smiling at the moments of joy,
weeping from the moments of grief;
hoping to remember,
trying to forget,
the feelings I cherish,
the words I regret.
~
Change.
~
It’s strange,
this change,
for sometimes it’s slow,
and others it’s quick,
but when it does strike,
there is no escape;
none can resist
the might of its will.
~
Change.
~
Moving forward,
marching on,
I see the dawn
of New Year’s rise,
and in the light,
I see the change;
the change that
waits for me.
~
I know not
how, nor
why, nor
when, but
ready, I am,
for what lies
ahead.
Ready, I am,
to see the light.
~
Ready, I am,
for change.

There *was* a lot of change in your life this year, wasn’t there? You are different, and yet you are still the same. Glad to have you as my friend for another year. :)

Indeed there was! I’m glad to hear I’m different, but still the same. I feel as if I’ve learned more about myself this past year than the entire span of the ones before that. :P

I haven’t known you too long but I see a change, yes… in your writing, in your confidence, in your energy… and Timothy it is all wonderful. It may be change, but it is definitely growth. it may be that you’re ready, or that you accept it… but either way I see it and it is terrific.
