Somewhere We Stumbled
Drowning, my heart is
flooded with tears
as memories come of
all those great years
we spent with each other,
together, a team
that could conquer it all –
but not all, it seems.
Somewhere we stumbled
as we carried it all;
neither could know just
how hard we would fall.
Broken, my soul was
shattered that day,
when we both decided
that we could not stay
together – but I would
be lying to say
that I wish we had not
moved so far away.
So… can you forgive me?
These words must surprise,
but can you forgive me?
The pain in your eyes…
My God, I’m a fool!
This is too much to bear
alone – I need you!
Right now! Right here!
I know it hurts now, love,
but do you not see?
I belong to you,
My Love,
and you belong
with me.

keep the hope! I can see your heart in the poem…
I am new to blogging and poetry writing in WP. I have a problem in the line breaks. How can I resolve it? Here is the url: http://tourshereandthere.wordpress.com/2012/05/02/poetry-the-common-man/. Please don’t forget to tell me what you think about it.

Hope yo don’t mind me butting in! I find the easiest thing is to type my poems in Word and then paste them into the HTML page (next to the Visual tab where you enter your post), then click on the visual tab and it usually sorts it much better than typing into the Visual straight away. It doesn’t put line breaks in where you didn’t want them. (And you don’t need any HTML or coding knowledge – just paste and click over)

Now that sounds so much easier! I’ll have to try it out. Thanks! :)

Thanks, Atticus!
And welcome to the blogosphere! I’ve had issues with breaking too, (mainly when I want to center the text) and what I’ve ended up doing is this:
First, type it out single-spaced in Word, but don’t center it.
Second, copy and paste it into the WordPress box for the new post, and then center it.
Third, after it’s centered, highight each break between the verses, and then click the “remove formatting” button (it looks like an eraser). This will make the line start on the far left instead of the center, which is what you want.
Fourth, after you’ve done this to all of your breaks, then hit “preview” to make sure it sticks. If it does, then you’re all set to publish! If not, then keep trying. :P
I hope this helps! It’s a pain in the butt, I know, but that’s what I’ve had to do now for months (ever since I switched to this blogging format). Oh! Another thing. If you try to edit the post after it’s posted, you have to add the space again, so you have to do step three again.
And good poem!
