Look at Me
III
Look at me.
I am nothing.
A hollow shell
of something,
someone;
a creature
cursed
for all eternity
to live as
dead,
for death has
claimed my
soul.
The Light
A single candle burns so bright
in this night – a sign,
that once upon a happy time,
I was yours and you were mine.
You were mine,
and now you’re gone,
and I am all alone.
The Burden
Dark have been my dreams of late,
with this burden on my chest.
Frettingly I lie awake,
unable to find rest.
The Tower
As I stared at the spiral that towered above,
the shadows crashed down in a cascading flood;
Shadows as black and as deep as the sea,
encircling, consuming, devouring me.
Devouring me – I could no longer see!
It Howls in My Bones
Standing alone,
I stare into
Darkness,
the Void
of the
blackest
of nights;
No stars shine here,
No light in the night.
The Watcher in the Woods
Garbed in shadows black as night;
Hair as red as fire;
Eyes the fiercest emerald,
filled with raging ire.
The Watcher lies
in wait.
Late Night Stargazing
“What say you
of dreams,
dear chap?”
“Of dreams,
good sir?”
“Indeed.
What would
you say
they are?”
A Throne of Shadows
Unending,
Unbending,
Unbreaking,
Awakening,
To a world
that’s without
End
As it was in the
Beginning
And ever shall
It be
Words that echo
Time and Space;
their chamber-halls
of praise
Crash of Darkness
Light splashed through the window, exploding though the curtains in a brilliant flash, illuminating the small room. Shadows jumped back in fear and ran across the walls as the light pierced through the veil.
And then it was gone.
As swiftly as it had come, the light vanished, and the shadows darted back down to where they had jumped from. Darkness pervaded and silence fell.
Then came the boom.
Like a crashing wave, the thunder pounded against the room, its deep vibrations shaking the walls to their very cores. Although there was no light, the shadows themselves were shaking with fright, for, unlike the light, which they could see, the thunder was just as dark and hidden as they.
They had no where to jump to.
The rumbling had stopped now, though, and it could only be heard in the distance far away, an echo of a mightier boom. Breathing a sigh of relief, the shadows settled down once more in the room, once more content beneath their objects.
End.
